AQUATIC PLANTS OF FLORIDA, INC.         8305 WAUCHULA ROAD, MYAKKA CITY, FL, USA

Frequently Asked Question!

Plants can be either picked up locally in Myakka City, Florida, M-F, by calling us to make an appointment during regular business hours, or we can box and ship plants out to you, M-W, by UPS, ground 2nd day delivery.

No. Plants are removed from their plastic trays for shipping purposes. We can include plastic trays inside boxes, by request, but this will reduce the number of plants that we can pack per box.

We ship out all orders during the early part of the work week, so plants do not get held-over during transit through weekends or major holidays. As a result, we rarely see orders damaged, or plants lost during shipping.  UPS will not guarantee perishable plants! Aquatic Plants of Florida warrants live plants are in good health, vigor, disease and pest free, at the time plants leave our Myakka City farm facility, either by pick-up or UPS delivery. After pick-up or delivery, we no longer exercise possession or control over live plant material. We cannot warranty survival – after plants leave our facility. As such, if plants are damaged during transit from our farm facility to the address of delivery, an unlikely occurrence from our past experience, from events such as delays or receiving issues, NO warranty exists, implied or express. Plants would need to be reordered at the customer’s expense, if replacement is required due to loss during shipping. If you have concerns about using third party shipping services, we suggest placing a small stocking order to evaluate plant survivability to your physical address. Thank you for your understanding of our shipping policy regarding plant losses during third party shipping and transit.

We warrant the correct genus and species as well as the correct counts for all plant orders. If there is an error, we will correct the order by either refund or replacement! If plants resemble one another, for example grasses, we will separate species, so there is no confusion on the receiving end.

4-7+ days, depending on the plant species. Ideally, plants should be removed from plastic lined boxes, upon receipt, kept out of the sun and wind, and sprayed with fresh water regularly, until installed. It’s best to time your delivery as close as possible to your installation. Grasses survive longest in boxes, approximately one week or more, from their pack date, if boxes are kept in cool, shady locations, left open to vent, and plants are lightly hydrated, not fully soaked, as needed by local environmental conditions. We box plants for all plant installations to facilitate transport, protect plants, reduce labor, and most easily move bulk plants around job sites (staging areas). Plastic trays are needed for warehousing plants (live controlled storage, such as greenhouses) for extended periods of time.
